Plutus September 2025 Update: Grandmaster Metal Upgrade & Cashback Wins

Hey everyone, Marcel here from Mars Money Lab. It’s time for my Plutus September 2025 Update, where I dive into my latest experiments with the Plutus Visa debit card and its crypto cashback rewards. If you’re new to this series, check out my first post from back in March 2025 for the full overview. This month was a big one for me. I decided to buy back into the Metal Grandmaster plan, and I’ll break down why below, along with my rewards haul, including some solid cashback and double rewards action. Let’s get into it!

My Metal Grandmaster Upgrade

The big news this month: I renewed my Metal Grandmaster plan, maintaining a year-long commitment as before, drawn by the promise of real monthly value over just PLU accumulation unlike my earlier experience. Plutus tackled past user concerns from Q4 2024 and Q1 2025 term changes, offering an apology and focusing on clarity, no mid-plan surprises, enhanced benefits like free payouts and unlimited stackable Perks, and practical PLUS spending options. With the new Metal benefits extension (starting November 1st), I’m set for 12 months of uninterrupted value.

Key perks include:

• Supercharged stackable perks: Up to £50 per slot, stackable unlimited times.
• 0% Fee On-Chain Payouts: Unlimited, cost-free payouts (up to 100 PLUS/month, EU-only initially).
• Double Rewards Vouchers: 5 this month (12x yearly), doubling PLUS on select past purchases.
• Golden Tickets: 12x annually, splitting £100 PLUS with invites.
• PlutusSwap: £10 card top-ups (£100 annual limit)
• PlutusGifts: 100% off on £10 gift cards (£100 annual limit)
• PlutusMiles: 100,000 Miles at 100% off (≈£2,000).
• PlutusCashback: up to £100 cash back per brand

Overall, this shift transforms my rewards from pure PLU accumulation into a blend of crypto and real-world cash value, offering a maximum of 960 PLUS annually.

Plutus Cashback

This month marked a great month with a record cashback gains of £66.94, driven by spends at Tesco, Shell, and Amazon. The total cashback reaches £94.88! Take a look at my cashback vault:

Plutus Swap

This month, I used PlutusSwap to convert 1 PLUS into £10 for a card top-up. PlutusSwap is a handy in-app feature that lets you redeem your earned PLUS tokens directly into spendable fiat balance on your Plutus card, turning in-app rewards into everyday cash without hassle. Also, I used 1 PLUS to redeem it for a £10 gift card, which I spent at a B&M store.

Perks Breakdown

With my Veteran-level status, I have 8 perks (5 base + 3 from a premium subscription), providing £80 of perks value per month. As part of the Plutus September 2025 Update, I activated these perks at my usual spots, focusing on grocery and fuel runs to hit caps efficiently. I spent £20 at each brand (Sainsbury’s, ASDA, Shell, and Amazon), totaling £80, stacked across 4 perks. With PLUS capped at £10 per £20 spend, I earned 2 PLUS per brand, yielding 8 PLUS overall.

• Sainsbury’s: £20.00, earned 2 PLUS.
• Amazon: £20.00, earned 2 PLUS.
• ASDA: £20.00, earned 2 PLUS.
• Shell: £20.00, earned 2 PLUS.

My Lab Results: Plutus September 2025 Update

September was a strong month for rewards. Here’s the breakdown:

• Earned PLU: 13.13 PLUS (from card rewards and perk stacks, with some used for additional cashback offers).
• Cashback: £66.94 in fiat cashback, mainly from Tesco, Shell, and Amazon spends.
• £10 Gift Card: Snagged this monthly freebie via PlutusGifts. Went with a B&M one to cover some essentials.
• £10 PlutusSwap: Converted 1 PLUS seamlessly for £10 card top-up, no hassle.
• 5 Double Rewards: Used these vouchers on select purchases where I’d already earned PLU, doubling the rewards on those for an extra boost.

Overall, this totals over £86 in real value (cashback + gift card + swap) on top of the PLU, easily covering my subscription costs with additional savings.

Lab Reflections

Anticipating the November start, my decision to opt for the Grandmaster upgrade is set to transform my Plutus journey from a PLU hoarder to a potential cashback powerhouse, aligning with the Plutus September 2025 Update vision. Previously, I’d accumulate stacks of tokens ideal for long-term holding but impractical for monthly expenses. Now, with the upgrade’s promise of tangible value through cashback, swaps, and gift cards, I expect consistent savings with every transaction. I chose Grandmaster for its promise of real monthly value over just PLU buildup and the enhanced stackable perks, increased cashback, and swap limits sealed the deal.

In other news, the Plutus team also updated Compound Rewards Yield (CRY) for daily payouts, enhancing reward simplicity, clarity, and flexibility for spending or compounding.
